  • Where is our main office located?

    Our temporary office is at 109 E. Olive in Bloomington, IL. But in person registration can be done at The Hub located in the Government Center. Entering from Washington Street The Hub is the very first office.

  • What hours are we open?

    We are open Monday-Friday – 8am to 5pm.

  • What facilities are available for rental?

    We currently rent out the Miller Park Pavilion, Miller Park Adult Center (first floor of the Miller Park Pavilion) White Oak Community Room, Hike Haven, Lincoln Leisure Center, The Den at Fox Creek Golf Course, Holiday Pool, O'Neil Pool (currently under construction) and Tipton Park Picnic Shelters. Pesticide Notice

Pesticide Application Notice 

2026 Pesticide Application Notice 

The Pesticide Application on Rights-of-Way Notification Act (Public Act 103-0976) requires the City of Bloomington to provide written notice of at least 24 hours before any pesticide application to public rights-of-way. Pursuant with the Public Act, the written notice is sufficient if posted on the website of the government entity. The City of Bloomington is providing residents of Bloomington with advance written notlce of at least 24 hours before the application of pesticides at City owned parks, detention basins, along trails, municipal properties, sidewalks and rights-of-way areas during the calendar year 2026. 

2026 Application Schedule of Herbicides 

Season: February 1, 2026- December 1, 2026 

Time of Application: Monday-Friday Between 7:00a.m.-3:00pm 

Purpose: The selective and non-selective control of unwanted annual and perennial weeds, invasive brush and trees in City owned properties, landscape beds, native prairie areas, fencelines, sidewalks and streetscape hard surfaces. 

Public Safety: Per the special safety precautions on the product labels, applications will be made in a way that will not contact people or pets, either directly, or through drift. 

People and pets will be able to enter the treated areas once the sprays have dried. All products to be used are EPA-registered and can be safely applied in residential areas. 

Range of Concentration: The City of Bloomington will follow the herbicide labels and will not apply more than the permitted amount that is stated for end-use chemicals. 

Products Being Used 

1. DOW AGROSCIENCE CONFRONT SPECIALTY HERBICIDE 

For the control of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds in established turf  
 
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: 

•  33% triclopyr: 3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinyloxyacetic acid, triethylamine salt 
•  12% clopyralid: 3,6-dichloro-2-pyridinecarboxylic acid, triethylamine salt 

2. SIPCAM AGRO USA, INC. CAVLCADE 65WDG HERBICIDE 

Pre-emergence control of grass and broadleaf weeds ACTIVE INGREDIENT: 

•  65% Prodiamine (CASNo.29091-21-2) 

3. CORTEVA AGRISCIENCE SNAPSHOT 2.STG SPECIALTY HERBICIDE 

Selective preemergence herbicide for control of certain broadleaf weeds and annual grasses. 

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: 

•  2% trifluralin: a,a,a-trifluoro-2,6-dinitro.:N, N-dipropyl-p-toluidine 

•  0.5% isoxaben: N-[3-(1-ethyl-1-methylpropyl).-5oxazolyl]-2,6-dimethoxybenzamide and isomers 

4. GROWMARK CROSSBOW SPECIALITY HERBICIDE 

For the control of most kinds of unwanted trees and brush, as well as annual and perennial broadleaf weeds on rangeland, permanent grass pastures, conservation reserve program (CRP) acres, fence rows, non-irrigation ditchbanks, roadsides, other non-crop areas and industrial sites.  
 
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: 

•  34;4% 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, butoxyethyl ester 

•  16.5% triclopyr BEE: 3,5,6-trichloro-2- pyridinyloxyacetic acid, butoxyethyl ester 

5. BAYER GROUP RANGER PRO HERBICIDE 

A complete broad-spectrum postemergence professional herbicide for industrial, turf and ornamental weed control.  
 
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: 

•  41% *Glyphosate, N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine, in the form of its isopropylamine salt 

6. NUFARM TRIPLET SF SELECTIVE HERBICIDE 

Selective broadleaf weed control for turfgrasses including use in sod farms. 

ACTIVE INGREDIENT:  
• 30.56% Dimethylamine Salt of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid*  
• 8.17% Dimethylamine Salt of (+)-R-2-(2-Methyl-4-Chlorophenoxy)Propionic Acid :j:  
• 2.77% Dimethylamine Salt of Dicamba (3,6-Dichloro-o-Anisic Acid)*  
 
7. BAYER ROUNDUP QUICK PRO SC TOTAL HERBICIDE
Control of weeds in Non-Crop Areas including, Paths, Parking Lots, Curbs, Sidewalks, Driveways, Around Buildings, Gravel Areas, Loading Ramps, Educational Facilities, Storage Yards, Vacant Lots, Fence Rows, Parks, Hardscapes (including crack and crevice), Municipal, Mulched Areas, Landscape Ornamental Beds, and Government Sites.  
 
ACTIVE INGREDIENT:  
• 0.089% lndaziflam  
• 0.890% Diquat dibromide  
• 20.460% Glyphosate isopropylamine salt  
 
8. Corteva GARLON 3A HERBICIDE  
For the control of woody plants, broadleaf weeds in range and pasture, forests and non­ crop areas, including manufacturing and storage sites, rights-of-way such as electrical power lines, communication lines, pipelines, roadsides, railroads, fence rows, non­ irrigation ditch banks, and around farm buildings; and applications to grazed areas, and establishment and maintenance of wildlife openings, and in Christmas tree plantations and aquatic sites.  
 
ACTIVE INGREDIENT:  
• 44.4% Triclopyr: 2-((3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridinyl)oxy] acetic acid, triethylamine salt  
 
9. Bayer ESPLANADE EZ HERBICIDE  
Non-selective control of emerged and pre-emerged grasses and broadleaf weeds in Non Crop Areas including, Paths, Parking Lots, Curbs, Around Buildings, Gravel areas, Loading Ramps, Educational Facilities, Storage Yards, Vacant Lots, Railroad and Rail Yards, Sidewalks, Driveways, Managed Roadsides, Fence Rows, Utilities, Parks, Hardscapes (including crack and crevice), Industrial, Municipal, Mulched Areas, and Government Sites.  

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: 
 • 0.089% lndaziflam  
• 0.890% Diquat dibromid 
• 20.460% Glyphosate isopropylamine salt 

AQUATICS:  

1. COPPER SULFATE CRYSTALS HERBICIDE
Controlling algae in lakes, ponds, and reservoirs.  
 
ACTIVE INGREDIENT: 
• 99% Copper Sulfate Penta hydrate 

CORTEVA AGRISCIENCE TORDON RTU HERBICIDE  

Control of unwanted trees via cut surface in forest and non-cropland areas such as fence rows, roadsides and rights-of-way.  

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: 
• 5.4% picloram: 4-amino-3,5,6-trichloropicolinic acid, triisopropanolamine salt 

• 20.9% 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, triisopropanolamine salt

    For Broad-spectrum control of crawling, flying, and wood infesting insect pest for indoor and outdoor, as well as insect pest of trees, landscape ornamentals and residential and commercial lawns.  

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: 

• 11.8% B- Cyfluthrin, Cyano(4-fluoro-3-phenoxyphenyl)methyl 3-(2,2-dichloroethenyl))-2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropanecarboxylate 

2. PBL/GORDON Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide
For control of chewing and sucking insects infesting landscape ornamentals and turf.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT:

• 10% Dinotefuran*,N-methyl-N'-nitro-N"-[(tetrahydro-3furanyl)methyl]guanidine 

3. NU FARM MALLET 2F T&O INSECTICIDE Systemic and foliar insect control in turfgrass (including sod farms), landscape ornamentals, on ornamentals and fruit and nut trees, on ornamentals and vegetable plants in greenhouses, nurseries and interior plantscapes.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: 

 • 21.4% lmidacloprid, 1-[(6-Chloro-3-pyridinyl)methyl]-N-nitro-2-imidazolidinimine
