Afterschool Sports
Each child has an opportunity to learn and develop skills in an atmosphere of teamwork and fun. Fourth and fifth grade boys and girls can participate in the programs that are offered at the 11 public schools in Bloomington. Programs offered during the school year are volleyball and basketball. Practice is held during the week at the schools. Games are held on Saturdays.
Art Programs
Classes
There are a variety of arts and crafts classes for adults and youth that are offered throughout the year. Some of the various classes by age group that have been offered are:
- Parent/Child and Preschool: Parent/Child Sculpture, Mud to Masterpiece
- Youth: Clay Pottery for Youth, Painting and Drawing, Cartooning Workshop
- Adults: Learning to Throw, Painting
Summer Art
Each summer a variety of classes are offered at Central Catholic High School for four weeks in June and then another set of four weeks are offered at Lincoln Leisure Center in July. Complete details will be in the summer program guide.

Youth Dance
Dance Classes for Ages 3 - 12
A variety of dance classes are offered through Bloomington Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts. Each class is geared specifically to its intended age group and dance style.
Dance classes for ages 3-5 focus on listening skills, motor skills, basic dance positions, technique, and social skills. Dancers age 6 and above are introduced progressively to terminology, refining technique, incorporating movements into combinations, and more.
Music Classes
Tiny Melodies
Tiny Melodies is a parent/child program involving songs, instruments, movements, musical stories, and more. This is a great introduction to music, using developmentally based activities.
